Ingredients

All products are completely natural, made in-house from blends of locally harvested, native New Zealand plants. All plants and blends are selected and curated with intention for their respective medicinal healing properties.

Beeswax  Cera alba

A natural wax made by bees, beeswax has an open structure so provides a breathable barrier to skin, helping prevent moisture loss. Beeswax also gives texture to creams and balms.

Vegetable Glycerin

Also known as glycerol is a sweet, syrupy clear liquid. It is an emollient (skin softener) and humectant (draws water to itself to hold water in creams and lotions). We use glycerin made from vegetable source.

Used in products: Glycertracts.

Vitamin E Alpha tocopherol

Vitamin E - is a fatty acid is an antioxidant, so it is doubly nourishing for the skin. It protects against free radical damage, fights inflammation and boosts skin healing.

Used in products: Whare Tangata Panipani, Tūpākihi Balm (as a natural preservative).

Alcohol

Professional tincture makers use only strong food-grade alcohol for making high-quality medicinal tinctures. It is not only the strength of alcohol which matters, but also its purity. Thus, using low-quality, unpurified alcohol for extraction is not a good idea at all. For the purposes of making medicinal extracts, we offer the purest and the strongest food-grade alcohol 96% ABV made from GMO-free plant material (either grain or sugar cane, subject to availability). It is both vegan and vegetarian friendly.

Used in products: Tinctures

Extra Virgin Olive Oil Olea europaea

We use a premium grade of olive oil taken from the first pressing of the fruit. It has a rich green colour and strong olive fragrance. Olive oils are high in Oleic acid - in fact, the fatty acid is named after the olive, a monounsaturated fatty acid. This makes it fantastic for moisturising and restoring the skin and hair but also means the oil is relatively stable.

Used in Products: Tūpākihi Balm

Sweet Almond Oil Prunus dulcis

Sweet almond oil has high quantities of oleic acid, which has emollient properties. It makes the skin soft, supple, and more radiant. Almond oil is used to treat dry skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema. It has regenerating, restructuring, and moisturizing properties, and is recommended for dry and delicate skin; it soothes rough and irritated skin.

Coconut Oil Cocos nucifera

Coconut oil is an amazing all-round ingredient and is ultra hydrating and moisturizing for your skin. It helps reduce flakiness, restores suppleness, and helps protect your skin from water loss.
